West Elm Expandable Dining Table
I'm finally sharing my West Elm Emmerson dining table review! One of the most popular questions I receive on social media is about the source of our dining table. And then the next question is about how I like it and how I clean it. So I'm sharing all the details here on the blog. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
I wanted this table so badly and during a sale, I finally bit the bullet and purchased it. It took a few weeks to be delivered, but it came white-glove delivery service and they put it exactly where I wanted it. There was no putting it together or installing it ourselves. Which if you follow along on the blog or Instagram, I'm totally used to putting things together myself, so this was shocking to me. I guess you get what you pay for. 😉
DETAILS
Our table is the 72″ Emmerson Reclaimed Wood Dining Table in Reclaimed Pine. West Elm now has a Stone Gray and Black Ink color also, but in my opinion, the reclaimed pine is the best. It has a natural finish and is marked with various scratches, color variations, stain, and natural imperfections. On the website, it says the pine has a rugged surface texture that will soften with age and use. And having this table for almost five years, I can honestly say that is true.
HOW TO CLEAN
I use our cordless Dyson with the handheld attachment and clean up any crumbs or dust. If you try to wipe off the crumbs they just get stuck in the grooves. Then, I use a damp rag to wipe off any sticky foods or spills. I've never had to use a wood conditioner or any special products.
REVIEW
Alright, now it's time for the real West Elm Emmerson dining table review. My honest thoughts. If you do not like reclaimed wood or need a table that is easier to clean, this might not be the table for you. We use it daily and have never had any issues. But we also don't have small children or many spills. However, the cleaning issue is the only negative I can think of when it comes to this table.
Everything else about it, I absolutely love! I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Esthetically it is my favorite piece of furniture in our house. Not only is it our dining table, but it has also become my work/craft table recently with the kitchen makeover. And I never worry about messing it up or getting paint on it. It just makes it better.
Over the years I have seen many knock-offs and DIY versions of this table. They are good, but I've never found anything quite as beautiful as the real thing. In my opinion, it is worth every penny.
